Minsk - With Echoes in the Movement of Stone [2009]

MINSK couldn't be categorized according to their previous releases. They oscillated between Sludge and Post Rock, together with a pinch of doom, combined with controlled bruteness. They exceed limits and do things their own way. Stagnation is a word, which cannot be mentioned in a sentence together with MINSK. They set no limits or stylistic barriers. MINSK are innovators.

Now the next banger, "With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone", leads the sound of MINSK into new, even more variable levels. Epic minutes of full bombastic sound at a high level where the familiar playfulness remains, as well as an uncontrollable variety of ideas: all that together thrown in a big pot, describe "With Echoes In The Movement Of Stone", which is an unfathomable piece of music. MINSK really excel themselves.

The source of MINSK's music is simple, but brilliant. Their unconventional and experimental music pulsates with the rhythm of breathing, the guitars dance in a trance, the songs are like prayers of Tibetan monks. Instead of crushing everything with dissonant guitar riffs and wild drumming, MINSK work here with restfulness and calmness like a meditation.

This listening experience is still supernatural. These four musicians from Chicago make far more than music. For entertainment you will have to look somewhere else. Here you are more likely to search your soul.

These echoes wake up the fossilized mind again to life!
