Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight - Movin' on [2009]

Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight is really an unusual name for a stoner rock band where letters are normally sparely used in band names. The band's self-released full length album 'Movin' on' covers a wide bandwidth. It ranges from stoner ("Movin' On", "Not what you know") and acid rock ("Because Of You") to sludgy ("Sea Shanty") and really heavy cosmic doom ("Innocence") to more classic rock ("Clothes On My Floor") and blues ("Southern", "The Water"). Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight can also be very mellow like in the "Echoes" song. In the beginning it sounds like the Rain Parade on an "emergency third rail power trip" and grows into a booming ballad! Wow, you have to hear this song driving in a car with 200 km/h on the Autobahn and the volume control at "10" - you will drift away and psych out!

Trippy Wicked & the Cosmic Children of the Knight characterize their music with an "appeal to fans of the genre defining bands (Black Sabbath, Electric Wizard, Kyuss, Clutch, Soundgarden) and those that enjoy a little variety." It's a 10 track, 52 minute epic musical journey of songs about living the good life, fire, growing beards, girls, aliens, loneliness, pirates, love and so much more. 'Movin' on' is full of the sexiest, sleaziest, stoner, doom, blues, whatever-the-hell-you-wanna-call-it riffs you’ve ever heard and the band play these with a clear love and joy of their craft. The album cover was created by their good friend Andy Birchwood based on various ideas and experiences from the recording session (and a little Russ Meyer appreciation thrown in for good measure).

What are you waiting for? 'Movin' on' is available to stream in full through the band's website, Spotify, and various other places, it is also for sale on CD via the website and digital downloads are available at all the usual outlets.
